Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul Continues To Be Ignored By Media

Hey guys, sorry for not posting recently, I've been very busy! I hope everyone's having a happy and productive 2012 so far. I just wanted to discuss something very sad that's been happening in the U.S. media for months. GOP candidate for President has been routinely and shamefully ignored by all of the mainstream media outlets, left, right and center. Even the usually balanced CNN has been quite guilty of this.

The sad thing is, the ignoring of a unique and well-supported candidate that actually has a chance to win his party's nomination is indicative of what many people have already suspected, but probably didn't expect to see so blatantly in the media, and that is the media having such a bias against a certain candidate. This is evidence that his openly-stated views are a major threat to many big players and they are using their influence to censor him. It's too bad that the media has lost its soul. When the media loses its soul, then so does the United States and our supposedly democratic republic.

Instances of Ron Paul being ignored...

Ron Paul strikes me as the best of the GOP candidates because he is very honest, thoughtful and consistent, and has been that way for years. He is not interested in getting elected, if it means he has to do it at the expense of what he believes to be right. You have to admire that. I also admire that he wants to end the expensive/unwinnable "war on drugs", and he wants us to get out of foreign wars and stop policing the world. If we do this, we will save trillions of dollars. Also, he is very much against SOPA and the NDAA bills that are poised to strip Americans of the rights to due process and censor-free internet. These laws are about as un-American as you can get.

Ron Paul talks about what matters and seems like he can actually be trusted... weird for a politician, right? Here's footage of a Fox news guest (Bush/Cheney political strategist) discussing how Cong. Ron Paul cannot be bought...

Very refreshing to hear. Everyone should do more to hear this candidate's message, because he is the exact opposite of the dishonest, professional politician that Americans have grown to loathe. He also has a lot of common sense solutions to fixing the economy and making Americans more "free."

Agree or disagree? Thoughts? Leave them in the comment section!

I have the distinct honor to be yours humbly,

Is the U.S. Spending Its Tax Dollars On The Wrong Programs?

July 29, 2011 Clip: New Rule – It Gets Better

As promised, we return to this video to discuss other points Maher brought up (starting especially around 3:20 into the video). Are we spending too much of our tax dollars in the wrong places? It does appear that way too much of our budget goes to our wildly-bloated military. Of course, I want the U.S. to be safe, but the amount of money spent on our defense dwarfs that of any other nation. It's overkill.

Additionally, it is clear that the "War on drugs" cannot ever be won decisively. It is a massive waste of money, the main cause of gang violence on our streets, and a terrible distraction from other crimes worth fighting and investigating.  Why commit such a considerable segment of our law enforcement resources to a lost cause, when  these individuals can be better stationed guarding the streets against murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and terrorists, for example? (More on that in a separate post)

Shouldn't more funding go towards bettering education, healthcare, and creating jobs with green energy industries? I feel that, regardless of what Conservatives say, they will tax the hell out of us. They always want smaller Government until they are in charge, so don't believe the hype. So, if we're going to be taxed to hell regardless, shouldn't we put that money towards programs that will improve our standard of living, rather than buying the military new, multimillion dollar toys, and fighting wars that cannot be won?

What do you guys think?  Leave your thoughts,  and I'd especially like to hear from Europeans and others from outside the United States that have experience with more Socialist-leaning governments than ours. I understand that no system is perfect, and Europe has its problems as well. I'd like to hear the pros and cons from your point of view.

I am affectionately and respectfully your humble servant,
 Publius
